A portrait of life under the COVID-19 pandemic, following asylum seekers, sex workers, and people experiencing homelessness on the margins of Tokyo. The film emerged from Docu Meme, a video collective co-founded at the onset of the pandemic. As social norms called on people to remain at home, three directors documented the voices of those pushed to society’s edges, while organizing online donations and public campaigns.

-Docu Meme Shorts-

Short films produced as part of the documentary collective "Docu Meme," which originated during the COVID-19 pandemic. We attempted to connect support for the impoverished and social movements with film. These films were shot between 2020 and 2021. This is a record of our practice aiming to memeify and integrate them into society.
